Ukraine Distribution Network Recovery and Industrial Power Reconstruction Project
Ukraine Distribution Network Recovery and Industrial Power Reconstruction Project
As infrastructure reconstruction continued in several regions of Ukraine, a local power company launched a distribution network recovery and industrial power restoration project. The project involved urban distribution network recovery, industrial park power supply restoration and power system upgrades for agricultural processing enterprises. DHDL supplied multiple types of main transformers, distribution transformers and special industrial transformers to support the customer’s phased reconstruction plan.

Project Background
With the recovery of power infrastructure in multiple Ukrainian regions, the local power company needed to restore distribution networks and rebuild power supply for industrial and agricultural users.
The project covered several regions, including Lviv and Ternopil. It involved town distribution network recovery, industrial park power supply restoration and power upgrades for agricultural processing enterprises. Due to the broad project scope and different site requirements, the customer adopted a phased batch supply plan.

Customer Challenges
Multiple Equipment Specifications
The project required different transformer types and capacities for town networks, industrial parks and agricultural processing facilities.
Multi-region Project Execution
Several regions were under construction at the same time, requiring coordinated production, shipment and batch delivery planning.
Special 0.8kV Output Requirement
Some industrial users required 0.8kV special output voltage and D/d-0 vector group compatibility with their existing power system.
Why the Customer Chose DHDL
The customer needed one supplier capable of producing multiple transformer models at the same time, while meeting IEC requirements and local grid application needs. DHDL’s ability to coordinate different product specifications under one production plan helped the customer simplify procurement and shorten the overall purchasing cycle.
DHDL also had experience with export packaging, batch shipment and project documentation, which was important for this reconstruction project involving multiple delivery destinations and transformer types.
DHDL Solution
For the special TMG-2500/10/0.8kV industrial transformers, DHDL’s engineering team reviewed the original system drawings and confirmed the design according to the existing industrial busbar configuration.
The D/d-0 vector group was designed to match the user’s original industrial power system, avoiding the need to modify the on-site distribution system. This helped the customer reduce reconstruction complexity and ensure system compatibility after installation.
All supplied products adopted Tier1 low-loss design concepts to reduce long-term operating costs and improve the energy efficiency of the restored distribution network and industrial power systems.
Delivery Timeline
The first batch of equipment was completed in 19 days, and the second batch was completed in 50 days. All equipment was shipped by sea and delivered via Gdańsk Port under CIF Gdańsk trade terms.
The batch delivery arrangement helped the customer start installation according to the progress of different regional reconstruction sites.
Customer Feedback
After installation, the equipment was successfully energized on the first attempt. In particular, the two D/d-0 special industrial transformers operated well with the original system, and no vector group mismatch occurred. The customer recognized DHDL’s technical confirmation process and compatibility design for special industrial applications.
Follow-up Cooperation
After the completion of this project, the customer continued to purchase 630kVA and 1000kVA series distribution transformers from DHDL for subsequent regional distribution network recovery projects.
This follow-up cooperation further strengthened DHDL’s participation in Ukraine’s distribution network recovery and industrial power reconstruction projects.
